The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) suggests best and most versatile as being "Land in grades 1, 2 and 3a of the Agricultural Land Classification." The National Planning Policy Framework was revised in response to the Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill: reforms to national planning policy consultation on 19 December 2023 and sets out the government’s planning policies for England and how these are expected to be applied.
